Thousands Experiencing Power in South-East Queensland and Victorian Regions Following Severe Weather Systems
Approximately twenty-five thousand homes in south-east Queensland were left without power on Monday's dawn after intense storm systems passed over the area, generating wind gusts reaching 109 kilometers per hour.
Large Hailstones and Widespread Impact
Locals observed substantial frozen pellets as large as 7cm in some areas. Meteorological experts announced that different parts across Queensland had been affected by substantial ice precipitation.

Emergency crews were working to restore electricity service throughout the impacted areas, with nearly 70 crews working to manage the numerous electricity disruptions.
Victoria's Storm Challenges
At the same time, around 1,000 residents in the southern state also faced energy failures after the metropolitan area recorded its heaviest rainfall in 18 months.
Rescue organizations responded to 598 emergency reports across the state, mostly for property damage but also for collapsed vegetation and flooding.

Meteorological Predictions
Moist weather were forecast to persist along much of Queensland's east this next several days as a low-pressure trough continued to pull in damp air against the coastal areas.
Tuesday was predicted as the wettest day, with persistent severe weather risk anticipated across different parts of both areas.

Medical authorities warned that there was an higher risk of thunderstorm-induced asthma across the northern rural areas, particularly given the ongoing climate situation.
