Critical Role Season Four Reveals the Fighters Group

Since the launch of the fourth campaign, new Dungeon Master the talented storyteller has kept viewers on edge with deep backstory, a colorful mix of characters, and a exciting storyline showcasing angels, evil spirits, and malevolent powers growing in influence within the city.

Warning: Spoilers for Episode 3 of the new season follow below.

The Soldiers Table Revealed

The latest chapter ended with a dramatic pause and presented the initial group of heroes who will separate from the main group to undertake their separate journey, separate from the other two tables.

This warrior group includes Teor Pridesire (portrayed by Travis Willingham), the agile character (the talented performer), Tyranny (the cast member), Wicander Halovar (the player), and the mysterious adventurer (Robbie).

The Reason for Division

With a large ensemble, it was obvious from the beginning that having everyone at the same party would be unworkable.

That’s why, the first four episodes of the new season serve as an Overture, weaving together the individual narratives before dividing into three separate parties: Soldiers, Planners, and Questers.

The Nature of the Soldiers Table

Per the Dungeon Master, the Soldiers table is for participants who are drawn to a traditionally charged fight-heavy narrative style where peaceful solutions are few and far between.

Initially, figures such as the squeamish cleric the cleric might appear out of place, but the actions of the latest installment demonstrate why these specific adventurers are best suited for the warrior group.

Reasons to Leave

First, the party knows exactly where to head next after a violent initial meeting with The Crow Keepers.

Casimir of the deceased character—whose demise initiated the campaign’s events—manipulated the enemy for his selfish purposes, breaking into the hidden lair, attacking Thimble, and swiping all the powerful objects to sell off.

The antagonist then settled his liabilities and escaped to a secure base in Gormalay, Timmony, above the city, with Cyd close behind.

Individual Reasons

Additionally, each character has a personal reason to leave the city Dol-Makjar:

  • The agile hero, as the close ally and closest confidant, wants revenge.
  • The adventurer knows Timmony and advises that it is a nasty place.
  • The strong character and The cleric, having defied his relatives’ demands to eliminate Teor and instead freed him, have no other options.
  • However, their position as key figures in House Halovar could enable the team reach areas they usually can’t.
  • Moreover, Teor vowed a eternal obligation to The cleric for his salvation and will now accompany him everywhere.

Fugitives

In addition, all of them are wanted by the powers that control the setting for a variety of reasons, making remaining behind too risky:

  • The agile adventurer and The character are notorious outlaws.
  • Tyranny and Wicander defied the influential house and the army of fiends they are allied with.
  • Teor is wanted dead by the family.

This results in them little choice but to travel to the northern region in pursuit of the antagonist.

What’s Next?

According to the recent installment’s follow-up content, we learn that the warrior group will be absent in the upcoming installment, leaving the rest of the participants to assemble the Seekers and Strategists groups.

Fans can expect learning which players will be where in the story’s concluding setup installment, available to watch on October 24.
